Product Development

We design the pack around your product — not the other way round

Concept, structure, material, prototype: the engineering that happens before your packaging ever reaches a production line.

Baş Packaging product development team prototyping custom paper and board packaging

Most packaging problems are decided long before anything is printed. The wrong board, a structure that jams the filling line, a window that the recycling stream cannot handle — these are development decisions, and they are the ones we care about most. Our work is to turn your product and a short brief into a pack that is engineered to do its job, and only then make it look like it belongs to your brand.

We start with the job, not the shape

We begin with questions rather than a template. What does the pack have to protect? How does it ship, and through which climates? Does it sit on a retail shelf, travel inside an e-commerce box, or get handed across a busy counter? The answers narrow the field quickly — and they stop you paying for strength you do not need, or finding a weakness only after the first pallet has left.

A prototype before you commit

A drawing convinces no one, and a CAD file even less. We produce a physical sample you can fill, drop, stack and photograph, because that is the only honest test. Most projects move through a sample, a question, a revised spec and a second sample — and that back-and-forth is where the real design happens, not in the original brief.

Materials and compliance, settled early

We pick the material with your market in mind: food-grade where it touches food, recyclable or recycled-content where the brief and the regulations call for it, and a barrier only where a product genuinely needs one. For brands selling into the EU we keep the documentation that proves the chain of custody, so a launch is not held at the border over missing paperwork.

Smart packaging, when it earns its place

We took NFC-enabled packaging seriously before most of the market did. Where it fits, we can build a tap into the pack — to prove a product is genuine, open its story, or bring a customer back to reorder. We suggest it when it adds something real, never as a gadget bolted on for show.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you develop a pack from just a sample of my product?
Yes. Send us the product — or a photo with dimensions — and tell us what it has to survive and where it ships. We propose a structure and material, then build a sample to prove it works.
Will I get a physical prototype before production?
Always. We produce a sample you can fill, drop and photograph. Most projects iterate through two rounds before the first production run, because that is where the real design is decided.
Do you handle materials and EU compliance, or only the design?
Both. We choose food-grade, recyclable, recycled-content or barrier materials to suit your market, and we keep the chain-of-custody documentation your EU compliance needs.
How long does development take?
It depends on complexity, but a first sample is usually a matter of days after we agree the brief. Production follows once you approve the sample.
